The Brisbane Broncos have taken blockbuster game day entertainment quite literally to a whole new level, after Aussie rock royalty Jet’s spectacular performance on a purpose-built stage, high in the rafters of Suncorp Stadium.
In a Stadium and NRL gameday first, that is already being earmarked to turn into a permanent fixture, the stage was set above the stadium’s big screen at the southern end, bringing the ‘wow factor’ for the sell-out crowd. Jet packed as much punch as the Broncos in the second half against Redcliffe in an electrifying rendition of two of their classic hits “She’s A Genius” and “Are You Going To Be My Girl”, accompanied by a spectacular pyro and light show. Laser filled the field, as pyrotechnics launched high above the stadium to the beat of the song, while pulsing lights chased around the stadium.
The acoustics also received rave reviews, with meticulous detail and planning going into the behind-the-scenes setup, led by Broncos game day partners, global experience masters, Great Big Events, High Impact lighting and Skylighter Fireworks. Pregame saw a first with the player introductions video accompanied with laser projection on the field of play, with the team’s name, numbers and logos matching the produced vison.
