In 2017, Skylighter Fireworks collaborated with the event producers to deliver Australia’s first International fireworks competition. The competition was originally schedulled for April, however with cyclone Debbie hitting the Gold Coast the day before the event, the competition was postponed until June.
In June of 2017, Skydivers strapped with pyrotechnics soared over the beach before Skylighter and two teams from China and the UK, brought the skies above Surfers Paradise to life. These three displays offered holiday makers and locals alike the chance to experience three distinctively different displays, showcasing the cultural and artistic choices made by each competitor.
Skylighter Fireworks provided the marine logistics, including the barges and operational teams who battled a 4m swell in appalling sea conditions. Skylighter Fireworks also provided all the logistics for the products, firing systems and hosting of the International teams while in Australia. This is a brand new, International event for the Gold Coast and Skylighter Fireworks are very proud to play a pivotal role in the events inception and success. #teamskylighter
