Skylighter was honored to illuminate with breathtaking close proximity pyrotechnics and vibrant low noise, daytime smoke fireworks.
This event marked a bold debut for the River Pride Parade, with our team delivering a technically complex, multi-site display that radiated color and energy across Brisbane.

A City-Wide Activation Like No Other
Leveraging our extensive expertise in city-wide activations, we transformed multiple locations, including public parks, rooftops, and prominent buildings, into stages for synchronized pyrotechnic displays. Our crescendo took place at the iconic Brisbane Powerhouse, where a cascade of colors paid homage to the spirit of the Melt Festival.
But our involvement didn’t stop there. Skylighter’s ingenuity shone as we executed fireworks from some of Brisbane’s unique landmarks. This included firing from moving platforms on the River City Cat, a challenge that underscored our team’s agility and mastery in rapid deployment. This aspect of the display was inspired by techniques we’ve honed in sports presentations and other high-intensity events, allowing for a seamless execution that captivated the audience from every angle.
Specialty Daytime Fireworks: A Vibrant, Debris-Free Solution
For this unique celebration, Skylighter deployed our specialty debri-less outdoor daytime smoke fireworks, known for their vibrant, eye-catching effects without the debris often associated with pyrotechnics. With a palette of colors that mirrored the Pride flag, our daytime smoke fireworks provided a stunning visual experience perfect for a daytime setting, drawing cheers from crowds across the river and beyond.

A Unified Effort with Government and Community Partners
This display was the result of seamless collaboration, led by Skylighter Directors Nick Mitri, Julian Rushworth, and Project Manager Dale Norris, who worked closely with multiple government stakeholders to ensure every aspect of the event was coordinated smoothly and safely. With team members Nick Kozij, Jakob Small, Hayden Seng, Jonathan Harrison, Harrison Smith, Dominick Vermaak, Lynsey Weber, Mana Mika, Fiona Brown, Liam Harvey, and Matt Hardaker bringing their expertise, #TeamSkylighter was proud to bring this vision to life.
Celebrating Pride with Precision and Passion
At Skylighter, we believe that every event has a story to tell. Through our close proximity fireworks and innovative use of smoke fireworks, we are thrilled to have added vibrant visuals to the story of Pride in Brisbane. The inaugural Melt Festival River Pride Parade will be remembered not only for its celebration of diversity but also for the powerful, city-spanning pyrotechnic artistry that made the event truly unforgettable.
