With a series of high-profile events lined up across Asia and culminating in the prestigious Seafire International Fireworks Competition on Australia’s Gold Coast, Skylighter Fireworks is set too to elevate the art of fireworks to new heights.
Kicking off their whirlwind Asia tour is the highly anticipated return to the 11th Philippine International Pyromusical Competition (PIPC) in Manila on May 18th. As one of Australia’s leading fireworks display companies, Skylighter Fireworks aims to reclaim their throne at the grandest spectacle of its kind in the Philippines and beyond. Titled “I Love a Sunburnt Country,” their show promises to take the estimated crowd of over 600,000 people on a thrilling journey through the Australian landscape, showcasing the country’s natural beauty and cultural richness.
“It’s so good to come back to PIPC this year, and we are hoping that we can achieve what Skylighter Fireworks did in 2013, and take home a trophy,” said Skylighter Fireworks Technician, Matt Hardacker.
From the Philippines, Skylighter Fireworks will venture into Vietnam, where they will collaborate on the groundbreaking “Rise of the Ocean Princess” stunt show at Vinpearl Harbour Nha Trang. Produced by a team renowned for their expertise in major stunt shows for global entertainment giants like Universal and Disney, this innovative production will integrate dynamic flyboard performances and cutting-edge pyrotechnics to deliver a mesmerizing spectacle the first of its kind show in Vietnam.
Working alongside Jack Ellison of H2O Events, an award-winning creator of water action sequences for many global stunts shows, the Skylighter team will use their industry-leading processes and equipment to produce spectacular flyboard performances that merge seamlessly with coordinated fire and aerial fireworks effects, orchestrated by cutting-edge show control systems. Dynamic fireworks will be launched from high-speed jet skis on the water’s surface to create a mobile pyrotechnic extravaganza.
“It’s been a thrill to be working on this groundbreaking show in Vietnam, our team has been working so hard and training up a local crew, and I can’t wait to see it all come together when the show opens,” said Skylighter Fireworks Director Nick Mitri.
Next on the itinerary is the Pohang International Fireworks Festival in South Korea, where pyrotechnic enthusiasts from around the world to showcase their talents in innovation and creativity. With a commitment to pushing the boundaries of pyrotechnic artistry, Skylighter’s participation promises to dazzle spectators and leave them breathless with their spectacular displays of colour and light.
“It’s been such a great challenge, international logistics, innovating how we creatively use the fireworks to really bring something new and unique to this event,” said Skylighter Fireworks Production Manager, Dale Norris.
The grand finale of Skylighter Fireworks’ international tour will bring the world to Surfers Paradise. Taking place on June 1st , Seafire: The Surfers Paradise International Fireworks Competition on Australia’s Gold Coast will light up the sky over the world-famous beach. As the creative directors of the event, Skylighter Fireworks will curate an unforgettable evening of pyrotechnic excellence, featuring world renowned teams from the United Kingdom and Italy battling it out for the coveted title. With a grand finale that promises to paint the sky in a symphony of brilliance, Skylighter Fireworks will showcase their innovation and artistry, leaving audiences in awe.
